eMTA Realistic Times has been adopted as the National Realistic Times Guide by AMBRA the Australian Motor Body Repairers Association.

"It is the first time that the motor body repair industry has solidarity behind a single product where the data is qualified, validated and updated ensuring that it can be trusted and relied upon by the entire manufacturing, insurance and repair sectors of the automotive industry." Said John Kerry, CEO.

There will be representation on the expert panel from AMBRA and insurance companies and industry which will assess changes to times and allowances continuously.

The adoption of eMTA Realistic Times as the standard will eliminate conflicts between panel shops and insurance companies and will contribute to efficiencies and productivity gains and result in increased customer service by delivering faster claims sentiment.

Realistic Times Validation Program September 12 2011

eMTA has launched the new Realistic Times Validation Program designed to ensure that a seamless adoption of eMTA Realistic Times are achieved by all stake holders.

The eRTV program has been developed on the principle that change must be based on objectives and KPI’s expected by Insurance Companies and panel beaters and these must be validated. The eRTV program works in partnership with both parties over an agreed to period and it’s objectives are to eliminate mistakes, misunderstandings and concerns and promote confidence. By gaining first-hand knowledge of the many benefits which are derived from using the eMTA Realistic Time Guide, a seamless productive adoption is achieved. Read More

The eRTV program will be adopted by 4 insurance companies and their selected panel beaters over the next 2 months…says John Kerry. The program duration is flexible and is selected by each insurance company to suit their objectives. The average is between 2-4 weeks.

The program has been designed from the feedback we have received from both Insurance Companies and panel beaters. We understand that when adopting changes which can impact the operations and profitability of a business, we must identify all potential impact and test the methodology to ensure that when it goes live, only benefits are derived.

The eRTV program comprises of a 5 programs which are performed in partnership between Insurance Company, Selected panel beaters and eMTA. The standard programs are summarised below and are customised as required.

PROGRAM

DURATION / REQUENCY

Setting the objectives, KPIs and  Impact points

MTA RTG Version 2 is now on line. September 5, 2011

The MTA RTG has been researched and developed by the MTA’s R&D Committee which includes Body Repair Shop owners, Paint Company Technicians and ICAR trained staff. Research is performed in appropriately equipped and trained facilities in Australia.

The MTA RTM process is web based and available from anywhere 7X24, it is continuously updated and upgraded based on continuous testing and input by the industry.

The R&D Committee has developed MTS’s Realistic Times Guide based on the following key principals:

  • Small, Medium and Large panel sizes for Refinishing,
  • Rounded All Times to the nearest 0.05 or 3 minutes,
  • Averaged out Fair and Reasonable times for operations to be used as a guide,
  • Extensive and simple Allowances Guide.

Extensive claim cost comparisons were performed using MTA RTG times and Funny times. Tests have indicated an average claim cost reduction or 2%. Comparisons will vary based on several factors including mix of claims and panel shop expertise.

The cost of claim comparison did not include efficiency and financial benefits which MTA RTG methodology is likely to produce including from faster claim completion and higher assessing productivity.

The key features are summarised under resources.
