Research supporting MTA RTG development
We recognise the heavy reliance panel beaters and insurance companies place in the accuracy and fairness in the MTA Realistic Time Guide data.
To ensure that our RTG guide is as accurate as possible, we have implemented several processes which increase accuracy of time guides, integrate expert’s knowledge, enforce stringent QA processes and updates immediately changes as found necessary.
The development and updating process includes;
- Continuous measuring of time taken in a workshop environment to carry out an operation in Australian Body Repair Industry
- The establishment of The MTA Research and Development Committee of industry experts which includes Body repair owners, Paint Company technicians and ICAR trained staff
- The R&D committee is charged with ensuring realistic times are achievable and will conduct their research in appropriately equipped & trained repair facilities
- Digital filming has been used to establish times
- Traditional small – medium and large approach has been taken to refinish times
- Continuous testing of reported time issues with on line real time update as required.
